I always love articles that are thought provoking and cause me to reflect. Yes, there are tons of those.

This particular article resonated with me—not only to my teacher-side, but to my mommy-side as well. And really, it is relevant to anyone’s any-side, no matter your profession. The message is to take care of yourself because, if you don’t, you can’t properly care for anyone or anything else. This message is straightforward. Duh, right?! Easier said than done.

Life is so fast paced these days, and it seems it gets faster everyday…we don’t even realize how fast we are moving. There is always a task to be done, things on our to-do lists of to-do lists. Before you know it the day is done, then the week, and then you look up and years have passed by!

As moms, as teachers, as team-leads, as experts, as ladies, as people… it is important to slow down and take the time to care for ourselves.

  • See the people you love and care about.
  • Enjoy eating your food and drinking your drink.
  • Stop and smell the flowers. For real.
  • Admire God’s creation.
  • Read a book of interest.
  • Take time to focus on a hobby.

There is much more to life than checking off to-do lists.

Most importantly, if we don’t take care of ourselves, we won’t be able to give 100% to our work, our friends, and our family.

Taking care of ourselves is leading.

Value yourself!
